Technology Lab |
Located in Portland, Oregon, vendors and customers can test
products or we will work with you to custom design products
for your specific needs. This location is equipped with all
of the laboratory equipment necessary for slurry testing and
development and specializes in slurry systems for high temperature
and reactive alloy applications. Work at Buntrock's Portland
Technology Lab is directed by Tom Branscomb. |
R&D Lab |
Located in Wilmington, Delaware, this lab concentrates on development
of investment casting ceramic slurries and additives. Buntrock's
two patented shell systems (1). The Quick-Set Binder
System which employs the use of Redonic and Bluonic Binders,
and (2). the Megasol® Binder System and Megaprime
Binder were developed at this location along with many slurry
additives such as PWS Pattern Wetting Solution, QDA Quick-Dip
Additive 9490, AF 9450 Antifoam and PS9400 Surfactant.The R&D
Lab is run by John Vandermeer, who is a ceramic engineer. Buntrock's
R&D projects are developed under the direction of Wes Jones,
who is a chemical engineer |

Puneet has been with Buntrock Industries since 2005 and heads our South Asia sales from New Delhi, India. He has a Bachelors of Commerce
from the University of Delhi and an MBA from the College of William & Mary. |
Carey Lollis
Special Projects Manager |
Carey joined Buntrock Industries in November of 2007 as our Special Projects Manager. He has managed three aerospace companies, one golf foundry,
and one bronze art foundry giving him broad experience in the entire process from the wax room, to shell building, casting, and end processing.
His experience in super alloy development, steel and vacuum alloy melting, and titanium melting in both vacuum arc and cold wall skull melting
bring additional expertise and depth to our team. |

Tom Branscomb
Director of Technology |
Tom
came to Buntrock Industries after many years in management at
Precision Castparts Corporation. Tom is ISO and Six-Sigma trained.
He is a ceramic engineer and has extensive experience in investment
casting shell development and shell room management as well
as wax applications . Tom is directing work at Buntrock's new
Technology Lab which involves improved shell systems for both
commercial and aerospace applications. |
Dave Sturgis
Senior R&D Consultant |
Dave Sturgis retired from
PCC Structurals and joined Buntrock Industries as Senior R&D Consultant. Dave will be working with Tom Branscomb and Arlo Davis in the
Portland development lab, helping with the titanium casting program and other special R&D projects. Dave has advanced degrees in ceramic
engineering, has authored over 16 patents and numerous technical papers, and is well known in our industry. Buntrock is delighted to be
able to utilize DaveÍs expertise in serving investment casting customers. |
Arlo Davis
Development Specialist

Arlo joined Buntrock Industries in 2003 and serves as Development and Marketing Specialist.
Arlo came to us with a strong background in investment casting, having served 18 years at
PCC Structurals in various positions in shell manufacturing, training, and process engineering.
Arlo works out of the Portland Technology Lab helping customers with shell issues as well as technical
and sales service. |
Wes Jones, Sr.
Director
of R&D

Wes Jones started WESBOND CORPORATION after a long career with
E.I. DuPont. During his time with DuPont he managed zircon sales
and marketing, directed technical service for colloidal silica
and authored a guide for using colloidal silica which includes
a trouble shooting section. This guide is still in use. Work
at Wesbond and the Buntrock R&D Labs has its focus on problem
solving, and as a result of that focus, several new products
for investment casting slurry building have been developed as
well as two unique and patented investment casting shell systems. |
Wes Jones, Jr.
Technical Operations Manager

Wes Jones, Jr. has his PhD in Ceramic Engineering and was an instructor at the
University of Washington during John Vandermeer1s study there. Wes has designed
and developed a number of computer software packages including "Mr. Slurry" which
quickly calculates slurry parameters for process control. Wes has also developed
shell systems utilizing high alumina binders and refractories. |
John Vandermeer
Ceramic Engineer |
John
Vandermeer earned his degree in ceramic engineering at the University
of Washington. He came to Wesbond / Buntrock R&D Labs out of
Lockheed Corporation. He has done extensive work in the area
of investment casting shell system improvement, and he developed
the patented Megasol® and MegaPrime binder system. He has
presented technical papers to the industry through the Investment
Casting Institute and BICTA. Reprints of those papers are available
through the Buntrock Virginia Office. |

Kermit Buntrock |
Founded Buntrock Industries, Inc, in 1973. Became introduced
to the investment casting industry through Monsanto Corporation,
Specialty Chemicals Division, where he was in technical service.
Buntrock Industries serves only the investment casting industry
and is unique in that it offers over 300 items which were specially
developed, selected and or designed for use by that industry.
These items cover all phases of the investment casting process
and include both the process equipment and the materials that
are consumed in the process. Buntrock Industries takes pride
in the uniquely qualified layers of technical support that we
offer to our customers and the companies we represent. The company
holds a number of patents for shell material systems. |

Ryan

Blake
joined Buntrock Industries in 1995 after serving as a Captain
in the U.S. Air Force. He is a logistics expert and has an MBA
from the College of William and Mary. |
