MPI APAS Automated Pattern Assembly System APAS is an abbreviation for Automated Pattern Assembly System. APAS
automatically places parts in perfect alignment, with perfect wax welds, and
uniform spacing on the runner system. Since multiple patterns are simultaneously
wax welded onto the runner system and the torching step is eliminated, there is a
major productivity gain. The uniform assemblies and perfect wax welds improve shelling and eliminate inclusions from undercuts. Casting yields can be improved through closer and more uniform pattern spacing and down stream processes such
as cut-off can be automated.
